Lenalidomide, and Dexamethasone With or Without Daratumumab in Treating Patients With High-Risk Smoldering Myeloma
Recruiting
This phase III trial studies how well lenalidomide and dexamethasone works with or without daratumumab in treating patients with high-risk smoldering myeloma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as lenalidomide and dexamethasone, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as daratumumab, may induce changes in the body's immune system and may... Read More

Listening Effort in Cochlear Implant Users
Recruiting
People with hearing loss experience extra effort when listening, which can lead to severe psychological barriers to communication and social participation. Listening effort can lead to fatigue, mental strain, burnout, medical sick leave, and the need for increased time to recover from regular daily activities. This proposal aims to understand effort changes on a moment-to-moment basis during listening, how long the effort lasts, and how the planning and execution of effort is impacted by the exp... Topical and Local TXA in Facelifts - A Randomized Controlled Double Blinded Study
Recruiting
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is a fibrinolytic inhibitor which prevents prolonged bleeding by interfering with fibrin clot breakdown by competitively binding to lysine receptors on plasminogen; this prevents the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin. TXA will be applied to a randomly assigned side of the face during facelift surgery. The intervention groups will include 1% TXA mixed with standard local consisting 1/4% lidocaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine, 3% TXA on TXA-soaked pledgets applied for 10 min... Read More

Concurrent Aerobic Exercise and Cognitive Training to Prevent Alzheimer's in At-risk Older Adults (The Exergames Telerehabilitation Study)
Recruiting
Significance of Research Question/Purpose: Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is regarded as the first clinical manifestation in the AD-dementia continuum and currently has a prevalence of 11.2% in adults over the age of 45, with incidence increasing with greater age. Furthermore, population-based studies suggest that between 50% and 80% of older individuals (aged 70 years and older) who perform normally on cognitive tests, report some form of perceived decline in cognitive functioning when aske...
