Part 2 (phase 3) aims to assess the efficacy of CSL300 on cardiovascular (CV) outcomes and safety in subjects with systemic inflammation and either atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) or diabetes with end stage kidney disease (ESKD) undergoing maintenance dialysis.

Pentoxifylline (PTX) is a medication that has been on the market since 1984 for use in disease in the blood vessels of the legs. There is some preliminary information that it may protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes and other diseases.
