With the advancement in technology we have the opportunity of performing the glaucoma testing at home to monitor the disease. The purpose of this study is evaluating the feasibility and patient acceptance of home testing with head mounted perimetry; detection of progression with head mounted perimetry vs office based perimetry; and monitoring the eye pressure measured by patients at home using a portable tonometer.

Effects of Sitagliptin in Individuals With Genetically Decreased DPP4

This is a pilot clinical trial to test the hypothesis that during sitagliptin (DPP4 inhibitor), individuals heterozygous for DPP4 loss of function variants will have a reduction in DPP4 activity and antigen, lower glucose after a mixed meal, and higher levels of intact DPP4 substrates compared to during placebo and compared to matched controls.

The first phase of this study was an open label, randomized pilot study. Enrollment for this phase is now complete. The second phase is a single arm phase 1 safety study. Patients planned to undergo precision hypofractionated radiation to all sites of oligoprogression will receive vancomycin for 1 week before RT and for 1 month after start of RT, and asked to provide stool and blood samples as outlined in the Safety Trial study table.

Preoperative Prehabilitation Program For Geriatric Patients in a Rural Healthcare Setting

The study will include patients who require elective major abdominal surgery for cancerous or non-cancerous conditions. The goal of the research is to assess the benefit of a prehabilitation program before surgery that includes nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, and optimization of chronic disease. A group of 10 patients will take part in a prehabilitation program. These patients will be compared to 20 patients who received standard of care.
