Fiber Food Introduction in Pediatric Short Bowel Syndrome
Recruiting
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a rare but challenging condition in which patients have insufficient bowel length to meet fluid, electrolyte, and nutrient requirements without parenteral support.
The purpose of this study is to determine how well dietary fiber is tolerated in patients with short bowel syndrome compared to patients without short bowel syndrome based on assessment of gastrointestinal symptoms, and corresponding changes in microbiome composition and metabolomics.

A Trial of Post-Discharge Transitional Care for Patients With Chronic Liver Disease
Recruiting
Patients with complications of advanced liver disease often have difficulties after hospital discharge that result in early hospital readmission. Poor outcomes for these patients during this transitional time could be improved through the use of innovative transitional care models. This proposal aims to examine the effect of a transitional care model, The Transitional Liver Clinic (TLC), in reducing hospital re-admissions, improving quality of life, and improving patient experience.

A Biospecimen Collection Study to Identify the Targets of Disease-Reactive T Cells in Patients with Autoimmune Disease
Recruiting
The most clinically meaningful way to discover new targets of T cells in autoimmune diseases is to study the tissues of patients with active autoimmune disease mediated organ inflammation. These tissues contain both cytotoxic and helper T cells that are driving their disease, and these T cells are being guided by TCRs that recognize tissue-specific targets. By collecting tissue when a patient has active inflammation, it is possible to determine which T cells are activated and undergoing clonal e... Read More

Triheptanoin for Children with Primary-Specific Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex (PDC) Deficiency
Recruiting
This is a medical research study to test a medication in patients with a disease called Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Complex (PDC) Deficiency. The medication is triheptanoin, which is currently FDA approved for the treatment of Long-Chain Fatty Acid Oxidation Disorders. Previous research suggests that triheptanoin may also be effective in the treatment PDC Deficiency. This study will investigate the safety and efficacy (how well it works) of triheptanoin in patients with PDC Deficiency.

Recruiting
The Effects of Successful OSA TreatmENT on Memory and AD BIomarkers in Older AduLts (ESSENTIAL) study is a 5-year, multicenter randomized open-label trial that will screen 400 cognitively normal older adults recruited from well-established sleep clinics at 4 academic medical centers, with newly diagnosed moderate-severe OSA. An expected 200 OSA patients will be then randomized to one of two groups: i) a 3-month OSA treatment by any combination of PAP, OAT, and positional therapy that results in... Read More

Study of Inupadenant (EOS100850) with Chemotherapy As Second Line Treatment for Nonsquamous Non-small Cell Lung Cancer
Recruiting
The study will first determine the optimal dose of inupadenant to be given in combination with carboplatin and pemetrexed to patients that progressed after receiving first line anti-PD(L)1 treatment for locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer. The efficacy and safety of the combination is then compared to standard of care carboplatin and pemetrexed in the same populations.

Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) Biofilm Infection and Recurrence
Recruiting
This work is based on DFU patients, seeks to conduct a fully powered clinical study testing i) If DFU with a history of biofilm infection closes with deficient barrier function. ii) whether such functionally deficient wound closure, manifested as high TEWL, is associated with greater wound recurrence. The primary parent study will also address molecular mechanisms implicated in biofilm-induced loss of skin epithelial barrier integrity in DFU patients.

Prospective 4D CTA of BAV Competence
Recruiting
The study involves annual 4D CTA imaging of the bicuspid aortic valve for a period of 5 years. CTA is often standard of care for BAV patients, but patients in this study will receive a higher radiation dose with a 4D imaging protocol. There may also be patients enrolled in the study who have a 4D CTA for research purposes when a routine CTA is not required for clinical care.
