Clinical Research for Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency–Associated Liver Disease

The Redwood Study is currently enrolling adults 18 to 75 years of age with Alpha-1
Liver Disease. The purpose of the study is to evaluate how safe and effective an
investigational study drug is compared to a placebo (both groups will receive
injections, but the placebo contains no active medication) in the treatment of liver
disease. If you or any of your family members have a confirmed or suspected
diagnosis of Alpha-1 Liver Disease, you may be eligible.

VisionCare's Implantable Miniature Telescope (IMT, intraocular telescope or telescope) is indicated for monocular implantation to improve vision in eyes of patients at least 65 years of age with severe to profound vision impairment caused by bilateral central scotomas associated with end-stage age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Patients with end-stage AMD who have undergone bilateral cataract removal and intraocular lens placement are currently contraindicated for telescope surgery.

Cryoablation of Small Breast Tumors in Early Stage Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This study examines the use of cryoablation as an alternative to surgery in the treatment of early stage invasive breast cancer. The hypothesis is that cryoablation will complete ablation and destroy the tumor in a selected population of women who may otherwise be adequately treated with surgery.

Efficacy of Implantable Defibrillator Therapy After a Myocardial Infarction

This study will assess whether an implantable defibrillator will increase the likelihood of survival in patients who have had a heart attack in the prior 5 years, have abnormal test results from a 24 hour heart monitor, and who have low normal heart function.
