Leveraging Mindsets to Improve Health and Wellbeing in Patients With Cancer
Recruiting
Primary Objectives: Mindsets have been rigorously studied in the domains of development, education, and more recently, in health and disease. However, there are no large-scale longitudinal studies of the mindsets held by cancer patients and how they may affect treatment outcomes, physical health, and psychological well-being. This randomized, single-blind, treatment-as-usual (TAU) control study aims to assess (1) mindsets at four time points spanning from the point of diagnosis to six weeks pos... Read More

Patient Derived Preclinical Models
Recruiting
Study goal is to collect tumor specimens that may inform cancer biology to eventually improve outcomes for patients with cancer. This proposal represents a highly collaborative effort to support cancer research with the goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies using patient derived preclinical models. This study is being done to collect samples of tumor tissues, matched normal tissue when possible, and approximately 50 mL of blood.

An Observational Study On TheAccuracy Of Whole-Body Magnetic Resonance Imaging (Wb-Mri) ScreeningTo Predict Clinically Significant Diagnoses In General Population Subjects Interested In Proactive And Advanced General Preventive Healthcare.
Recruiting
This is a prospective, single-arm, observational study capturing data from whole-body magnetic resonance imagining (WB-MRI) from up to 100,000 male and female subjects 18 years of age or older recruited at multiple clinical sites within the United States. Study subjects must meet a set of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Potential subjects arriving at the study sites will be evaluated for enrollment. It is the Principal Investigator's (PI) responsibility to enroll only subjects who satisfy the... Read More

UNC Metastatic Cancer Radiation Therapy Registry
Recruiting
The purpose of this registry is to collect clinical data from participants attending UNC Hospitals who present with metastatic cancer and are evaluated to receive radiation therapy as part of their standard of care treatment. The goal of this study is to provide a foundation for studies designed to identify projects across the translational continuum related to metastatic cancer and radiation therapy treatment. The relevant clinical data will be linked to patient-reported outcomes (PROs) thus al... Read More

Safety, PK, and Preliminary Efficacy of MBRC-101 in Advanced Refractory Solid Tumors
Recruiting
This is a first-in-human (FIH), open label Phase 1/1b / Phase 2 study in patients with advanced metastatic solid tumors refractory to standard treatment. Phase 1 will identify potential optimal biologically relevant doses (OBRD) and the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) of MBRC-101 at one 1 or more dosing regimens. Phase 1b will evaluate the safety and preliminary clinical activity of MBRC-101 at potential OBRDs. Phase 1 and Phase 1b will both characterize single and multiple-dose PK profiles and eva... Improving Communication for Cancer Treatment: Addressing Concerns of Older Cancer Patients and Caregivers
Recruiting
To improve patient-centered outcomes for older patients with cancer considering or receiving chemotherapy and their caregivers. To do this, the project team will (a) establish the effectiveness of GA on communication about age-related concerns, patient and caregiver satisfaction with communication about age-related concerns, quality of life, and patient-reported side effects of chemotherapy; (b) evaluate the success of the implementation strategies on the adoption, reach, and fidelity of impleme... A Dose Finding Phase 1 of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in HER2/Neu-Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer and a Single-arm, Historically-controlled Phase 2 Study of Sarilumab Plus Capecitabine in Stage I-III Triple Negative Breast Cancer With High-Risk Residual Disease (EMPOWER)
Recruiting
This study looks to advance a novel and potent strategy to eliminate minimal residual disease (MRD) in triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) present even after multimodal treatment, thereby improving survival and increasing cure rate in this aggressive cancer. Patients with locally advanced TNBC are at high risk of developing lethal metastatic disease within 2 years of diagnosis, especially for those without a pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The high risk occurs... Read More
