Building Family Caregiver Skills Using a Simulation-Based Intervention for Care of Cancer Patients
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to learn whether an education and support program can help caregivers feel more confident in technical and communication skills needed to care for a person with cancer. Patients with cancer and their caregivers face many challenges. These include learning about cancer and its treatment, coping with symptoms from illness and treatment side effects, making adjustments to usual activities, and managing the emotional effects of having a serious illness. A Pilot Feasibility Trial of a Tailored Intervention to Improve Adherence in Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer
Recruiting
A pilot feasibility randomized clinical trial comparing a tailored intervention to uniform standard of care will be conducted. A total of 40 AYAs with cancer will be randomized to one of the two programs. Data will be collected to explore the hypotheses that the intervention meets pre-established enrollment, retention, fidelity, and data completion feasibility criteria and that AYAs will rate the intervention as easy to use and acceptable.

Addressing Tetrachloroethylene Exposure in an Impacted Community
Recruiting
Groundwater in Martinsville, IN, is contaminated by volatile organic compounds (VOCs), tetrachloroethylene (PCE) and trichloroethylene (TCE). Indoor air in some residential and commercial buildings is also contaminated with PCE and TCE. This study is being conducted to better understand the impact of low-level exposures to these compounds on community members' health. Data collected in this study will be used to help the community identify a course of action.

Larotrectinib to Enhance RAI Avidity in Differentiated Thyroid Cancer
Recruiting
Papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) is the most common form of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). The traditional first line treatment for patients with advanced DTC after surgical resection is radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy. However, less than a quarter of patients with lung metastases will achieve a complete response to RAI therapy, and this therapy carries the risk of pulmonary fibrosis and an increasingly recognized risk of secondary malignancies.

Tumor Related Epilepsy
Recruiting
Background: Some people with brain tumors have seizures related to the tumor. This is called tumor-related epilepsy. Usually brain tumors are treated by removing as much of the brain tumor as possible without causing problems. Researchers think this may improve the outcome for people with brain tumors. It may completely relieve or greatly reduce the number of seizures they have. Objectives: To evaluate people with brain tumors that are associated with seizures and to offer surgical treatment....
