Michigan is currently home to 2175 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Ann Arbor, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
The Development of Stuttering in Young Children
Recruiting
The goal of this longitudinal research is to learn why some children "grow out" of stuttering, while others persist. Children who do and do not stutter aged 3-6 years are eligible to participate in our study. During the study, children's speech and language abilities will be assessed with standardized assessments, and they complete several child-friendly experiments. During these experiments, brain activity will be recorded using specialized caps while children describe pictures, children will s... Read More

Neuroblastoma Maintenance Therapy Trial
Recruiting
Difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) will be used in an open label, single agent, multicenter, study for patients with neuroblastoma in remission. In this study subjects will receive 730 Days of oral difluoromethylornithine (DFMO) at a dose of 750 mg/m2 ± 250 mg/m2 BID (strata 1, 2, 3, and 4) OR 2500 mg/m2 BID (stratum 1B) on each day of study. This study will focus on the use of DFMO in high risk neuroblastoma patients that are in remission as a strategy to prevent recurrence.

Michigan Food and Atopic Dermatitis (M-FAD) Program - Molecular Analytics Project
Recruiting
This study will explore potential links between atopic dermatitis and food allergy. This information will be useful to determine atopic dermatitis and food allergy share unique biochemical or genetic identifiers useful for diagnosing and treatments in the future. This is a mechanistic study consisting of obtaining blood and skin samples from participants at baseline. Individuals may also undergo a clinically indicated oral food challenge and have blood and skin samples collected at various time... Read More

Role of Sleep Reactivity in Shift Work Disorder
Recruiting
The purpose of this project is to test sleep reactivity as an independent cause of Shift Work Disorder (SWD). The primary hypothesis is that those with high sleep reactivity will show persistent SWD symptoms after experimental reduction of circadian misalignment, which will then be mitigated with CBT.

A Study to Compare Two Surgical Procedures in Individuals With BRCA1 Mutations to Assess Reduced Risk of Ovarian Cancer
Recruiting
This clinical trial evaluates how well two surgical procedures (bilateral salpingectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy) work in reducing the risk of ovarian cancer for individuals with BRCA1 mutations. Bilateral salpingectomy involves the surgical removal of fallopian tubes, and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy involves the surgical removal of both the fallopian tubes and ovaries. This study may help doctors determine if the two surgical procedures are nearly the same for ovarian cancer risk... Read More
