There are currently 163 active clinical trials seeking participants for Hypertension research studies. The states with the highest number of trials for Hypertension participants are California, Florida, Texas and Ontario.
Improving Blood Pressure Control in Stroke Patients by Increasing Access to a Home Blood Pressure Monitor
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether providing teaching with a low-cost device can help to improve blood pressure, health outcomes, patient self-efficacy without exacerbating inequity between advantaged and disadvantaged patients. The main question\[s\] it aims to answer are: 1. Does providing a free home blood pressure cuff improve control of hypertension? 2. Does providing a free home blood pressure cuff have a greater impact on control of hypertension in disadvantaged populat... Read More

Expanding Access to Care Through Telemedical Support for Vital Sign Monitoring in High-risk Patients With Cancer
Recruiting
A randomized trial of remote blood pressure monitoring, compared to usual care, in patients receiving bevacizumab to determine whether remote blood pressure monitoring improves the collection of blood pressure data, identification and management of clinically significant hypertension, and patient satisfaction.

Mitochondria Oxidative Stress and Vascular Health Study
Recruiting
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the number one cause of death in America and most of the post-industrial world. Hypertension is a leading risk factor for CVDs including stroke, myocardial infarction, and heart failure. Black Americans suffer from the highest rates of hypertension of any racial/ethnic group in America, among the highest in the world. There are also well-documented racial disparities in vascular dysfunction (e.g., endothelial dysfunction, arterial stiffening). Thus, racial disp... Read More

Novel Time-efficient Inspiratory Muscle Strength Training for Lowering Systolic Blood Pressure
Recruiting
Above-normal systolic blood pressure (SBP), defined as SBP \>/= 120 mmHg, is the major modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease, stroke, cognitive decline/dementia, and other chronic health problems. Despite the availability of treatments to lower SBP, over 75 percent of adults with above-normal SBP fail to control BP, which has led to a nearly 50 percent increase in the number of deaths attributable to BP over the past decade. Therefore, above-normal SBP is a major public health burden... Read More

Study 1: Effect of Minocycline Treatment on Drug-Resistant Hypertensive Patients
Recruiting
Hypertension (HTN) is the single most prevalent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Recent American Heart Association (AHA) statistics indicate that one-third of all adults in the United States of America suffer from HTN. Despite advances in life style modification and multi-drug therapies, 20-30% of all hypertensive patients remain resistant. These individuals exhibit autonomic dysregulation due to elevated sympathetic activity and norepinephrine s... Read More

Telemonitoring Hypertension and Breast Cancer
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial-prospective study will provide important information on equitable implementation strategies to improve hypertension management in women with breast cancer by evaluating the feasibility and safety of remote hypertension management using home blood pressure telemonitoring that will provide individualized hypertension management, health and wellness education for hypertension prevention of women with breast cancer stages I-IV. Also this study may provide evidence to... Read More

Renal Metabolism in Salt-sensitive Human Blood Pressure
Recruiting
Salt sensitive hypertension is a significant health problem worldwide and a primary modifiable risk factor for renal, cardiovascular, and cerebrovascular diseases. Yet, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. The proposed study determines how renal oxygenation and substrate metabolism differs between individuals with and without salt sensitivity, with the ultimate goal of identifying mechanisms, diagnostic criteria, and treatment strategies for salt sensitive hypertension.
