Shorter Chemo-Immunotherapy Without Anthracycline Drugs for Early-Stage Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the effects of shorter chemotherapy (chemo)-immunotherapy without anthracyclines to usual chemo-immunotherapy for the treatment of early-stage triple negative breast cancer. Paclitaxel is in a class of medications called anti-microtubule agents. It stops cancer cells from growing and dividing and may kill them. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be bette... Read More

Alpelisib (BYL719) in Combination With Continued Endocrine Therapy Following Progression on Endocrine Therapy in Hormone Receptor Positive, HER2 Negative, PIK3CA Mutant Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recruiting
Patients who have histologically confirmed metastatic or unresectable (not amenable to curative therapy) breast cancer may be screened for eligibility. All patients must have HER2 negative breast cancer with the identified PIK3CA mutation and received at least one line of endocrine therapy. The study will consist of a screening phase, a treatment phase, and a post-treatment phase which includes safety, efficacy, and follow-up. The treatment phase will include taking alpelisib daily in combinatio... Read More

Clinical Decision Support Tool in PARDS Pilot Study
Recruiting
Previous clinical trials in adults with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) have demonstrated that ventilator management choices can improve Intensive Care Unit (ICU) mortality and shorten time on mechanical ventilation. This study seeks to scale an established Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tool to facilitate dissemination and implementation of evidence-based research in mechanical ventilation of infants and children with pediatric ARDS (PARDS). This will be accomplished by using CDS t... Read More

Cognitive Behavioral and Faith Fellowship to Improve Thy Health
Recruiting
Investigators will examine the efficacy of a faith-based depression intervention, in reducing symptoms of depression among African American adults in Wisconsin. Twelve church groups, each with 10 people (N=120) will be invited to participate. This intervention will be the first evidence-based, faith-based intervention designed for African Americans if validated.

Study of 18F-FFNP Breast PET/MRI
Recruiting
This clinical trial will investigate an estrogen-regulated parameter as an early measure of endocrine therapy response: progesterone receptor (PR) protein with a progestin-based radioligand, 18F-fluorofuranylnorprogesterone (18F-FFNP). The overall purpose of this research is to test the efficacy of 18F-FFNP PET/MRI for predicting response to presurgical endocrine therapy and to determine the quantitative reliability of 18F-FFNP breast PET/MRI in patients with newly diagnosed PR+ primary breast c... Preventing Liver Cancer Mortality Through Imaging With Ultrasound vs. MRI
Recruiting
The study is a randomized trial of two different screening methods for early detection of liver cancer in patients with cirrhosis of the liver. The goal of PREMIUM is to compare an abbreviated version of the diagnostic gold standard for HCC (aMRI) +AFP to the standard-of-care screening (US+AFP) in patients at high risk of developing HCC. The investigators hypothesize that HCC will be detected at earlier stages, allowing for more curative treatments and resulting in a reduction in HCC-related mor... Read More

Trial of Therapeutic Hypothermia in Patients With ARDS
Recruiting
Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) is a serious condition that occurs as a complication of medical and surgical diseases, has a mortality of \~40%, and has no known treatment other than optimization of support. Data from basic research, animal models, and retrospective studies, case series, and small prospective studies suggest that therapeutic hypothermia (TH) similar to that used for cardiac arrest may be lung protective in patients with ARDS; however, shivering is a major complication... Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trail is to learn about how asthma influences brain function. The main questions it aims to answer are: * How airway inflammation in asthma affects the brain; and, * Whether airway inflammation in asthma is related to symptoms of depression and anxiety Over the course of 6 visits, participants will: * Complete questionnaires * Complete computer tasks * Undergo allergy skin test * Undergo breathing tests including two whole lung allergen challenges * Give four blood s... Mechanisms of Fatigability With Diabetes
Recruiting
Pre-diabetes (Pre-D) is a precursor to type 2 diabetes (T2D) and characterized by increased exercise fatigability of lower limb muscles, that can impede exercise performance. The cause for the increased fatigability in people with Pre-D is not known. Given the profound vascular disease present in people who have had uncontrolled diabetes for several years, we will determine whether dynamic, fatiguing contractions of the lower limb muscles in people with Pre-D are limited by vascular dysfunction...
