Reduced Dose Radiotherapy for the Treatment of Indolent Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma
Recruiting
This phase II trial compares the safety, side effects and effectiveness of reduced dose radiation therapy to standard of care dose radiation in treating patients with indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays, particles, or radioactive seeds to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Standard of care radiation treatment for indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma is usually delivered in 12 treatments. Studies have shown indolent lymphoma to be sensitive to radiation treatment,... Read More

SPECT-CT Guided ELEctive Contralateral Neck Treatment for Patients With Lateralized Oropharyngeal Cancer
Recruiting
This study is being done to answer the following question: Is the chance of cancer spreading or returning the same if radiotherapy to the neck is guided, by using a special imaging study called lymph node mapping (lymphatic mapping) Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT-CT), compared to the usual treatment when radiotherapy is given to both sides of the neck?

S1501 Carvedilol in Preventing Cardiac Toxicity in Patients With Metastatic HER-2-Positive Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial studies how well carvedilol works in preventing cardiac toxicity in patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER)-2-positive breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. A beta-blocker, such as carvedilol, is used to treat heart failure and high blood pressure, and it may prevent the heart from side effects of chemotherapy.

Effects of Torso Weighting on Muscle Activation During Balance Tests in Individuals With and Without Multiple Sclerosis
Recruiting
Rationale: The Balance-Based Torso-Weighting (BBTW) is a patented evaluation system that uses strategic placement of small or lightweight weights on the trunk to improve balance and stability. BBTW has been found to improve the upright mobility of people with multiple sclerosis, however the mechanism underlying the improvement of balance and gait is still unknown.1-2 Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the immediate effects of BBTW on muscle activation of tibialis anterior and g... Trial of Precision Medicine in Emergency Departments
Recruiting
The objectives of this study are to (1) test the feasibility of the clinical implementation of preemptive pharmacogenetic (PGx) testing in the emergency department (ED) and (2) determine if PGx testing (with appropriate decision support) decreases ED return visits and hospitalizations. We will conduct a randomized, controlled, pragmatic clinical trial assessing both the real-world effectiveness as well as implementation outcomes using a targeted PGx testing panel in several UF Health EDs.
