Florida is currently home to 3778 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Miami, Tampa, Jacksonville and Orlando. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.

BMT-CARE: Psychosocial Intervention for Transplant Caregivers
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to evaluate whether a psychological intervention (BMT-CARE) is effective at improving the quality of life in caregivers and patients treated with hematopoietic cell transplant compared to usual care, and to identify critical facilitators and barriers for BMT-CARE implementation and adoption.

Biomarker Modulation and the Inhibition of NKT1 Cells by Oral GRI-0621 in Patients with IPF
Recruiting
This is a Phase 2a, randomized, double-blind, multi-center, placebo-controlled, parallel-design, 2-arm study. Approximately 36 subjects with IPF will be randomized in a 2:1 ratio for GRI-0621 4.5mg or Placebo. GRI-0621 dose of 4.5mg will be compared with placebo following once daily oral administration for 12 weeks. Concurrently, a Sub-Study will be conducted, examining the number and activity of NKT cells in BAL, for up to 12 eligible subjects (across various centers). An early-stage patient... Read More

Causal Role of Delta-beta Coupling for Goal-directed Behavior in Anhedonic Depression
Recruiting
Anhedonia, the inability to seek-out and experience pleasure, is a common symptom in depression that predicts treatment-resistance and is sometimes exacerbated by first-line antidepressants. In our previous research, we found that anhedonia decreases goal-directed behavior and its related neural activity. In this study, we will investigate target engagement from five-consecutive days of stimulation for participants that are within a unipolar major depressive episode and also have high symptoms o... Causal Role of the Aperiodic Signal for Working Memory
Recruiting
Working memory (WM) is the ability to hold relevant information in mind in the absence of sensory input. The capacity for WM is a foundation for cognitive control and higher cognitive function more broadly. Previous research demonstrated that during the delay period of WM tasks, oscillatory electrical activity in the prefrontal cortex in the theta-frequency band (4-8 Hz) increased in amplitude. However, other groups found that the slope of the aperiodic signal in the brain was positively correla... Read More

Transcranial Pulse Stimulation of the Brain
Recruiting
This study will investigate transcranial pulse stimulation (TPS) as a method of enhancing cognitive and neural function. The study team will apply this low intensity, magnetically pulse technology to key brain regions in a randomized, sham-controlled trial (RCT). The study will determine the magnitude of changes in cognitive function and brain function and structure between a pre- and post-stimulation among 10 typically-aging older adults and 10 patients with mild dementia.

Central Executive Training and Parent Training for ADHD
Recruiting
The goal of the current project is to combine two evidence- based treatments for school-aged children with ADHD: Central Executive Training (CET) and Behavioral Parent Training (BPT). CET is a computerized training intervention that improves ADHD symptoms and academic functioning by improving children's working memory abilities. BPT is a therapeutic intervention that improves family functioning and child oppositional-defiant (ODD) symptoms by changing parenting behaviors. Their combined use is e... Read More
