Randomized, Embedded, Multifactorial Adaptive Platform Trial for Community- Acquired Pneumonia
Recruiting
REMAP-CAP is a randomised, embedded, multifactorial, adaptive platform trial for community-acquired pneumonia. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of a range of interventions to improve outcome of patients admitted to intensive care with community-acquired pneumonia. In addition, REMAP-CAP provides and adaptive research platform for evaluation of multiple treatment modalities in the event of a respiratory pandemic such as COVID-19. REMAP-COVID is a sub-platform of REMAP-CAP th... Read More

A More Engaging Visual Field Test to Increase Use and Reliability in Pediatrics
Recruiting
The majority of young children do not think that visual field (VF) testing of peripheral vision is similar to a game; therefore, it is not surprising that they have difficulty maintaining attention during VF testing and thus the test reliability suffers as a consequence. Poor VF reliability has been a longstanding, major issue since it leads to an increased number of tests and/or longer duration of time needed to determine when there are true vision losses. Providers are less likely to obtain VF... Read More

Reducing Antimicrobial Overuse Through Targeted Therapy for Patients With Community-Acquired Pneumonia
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to reduce the exposure of broad-spectrum antimicrobials by optimizing the rapid detection of CAP pathogens and improving rates of de-escalation following negative cultures. To accomplish this, we will perform a 3-year, pragmatic, multicenter 2 X 2 factorial cluster randomized controlled trial with four arms: a) rapid diagnostic testing b) pharmacist-led de-escalation c) rapid diagnostic testing + pharmacist-led de-escalation and d) usual care

Study of NEROFE, a Novel Hormone-Peptide in Adult Patients With Advanced MDS and AML
Recruiting
This is an open-label Phase 1b study of NEROFE following a traditional 3+3 design to assess safety and to determine the Recommended Phase 2 Dose (RP2D) of NEROFE in patients with MDS or AML. IV NEROFE will be administered three times per week on alternate days. The exact dosage will be determined using the body surface area (BSA) measured on Day 1 of each cycle.

Response to Massage in Neck Pain
Recruiting
This study is interested in whether baseline measures of pain sensitivity i.e. the amount of pressure required to feel pain predicts pain relief following a pain inducing massage AND whether pain relief following a pain inducing massage is different than a pain free massage or placing your hand in a cold water bath. Participants with neck pain will be randomly assigned to receive a pain inducing massage, pain free massage, or to place their hand in a cold water bath.
