The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of LF111 and drospirenone (DRSP) 3.5 mg chewable tablets on bone mineral density (BMD) at the lumbar spine after 12 months (13 medication cycles) of investigation in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods. Secondary objectives include further evaluating the impact of LF111 and DRSP 3.5 mg chewable tablets on BMD and bone turnover after 12 months (13 medication cycles) in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods and assessing the general safety and tolerability of LF111 and DRSP 3.5 mg chewable tablets in comparison to non-hormonal contraceptive methods. Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCA) are genetic neurological diseases that cause imbalance, poor coordination, and speech difficulties. There are different kinds of SCA and this study will focus on types 1, 2,3, and 6 (SCA 1, SCA 2, SCA 3 , also known as Machado-Joseph disease and SCA 6). The diseases are rare, slowly progressive, cause increasingly severe neurological difficulties and are variable across and within genotypes. The purpose of this research study is to bring together a group of experts in the field of SCA for the purpose of learning more about the disease. The research questions are: 1. How does your disease progress over time? 2. What are the best ways to measure the progression? 3. Do some genes, other than the gene that is abnormal in your disease, have any effect on the way the disease behaves? This is a nationwide study and we expect that 800 patients will participate all over the USA. The participants will be in the study for an indeterminate period of time. The present study seeks to increase understanding of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among veterans, an important public health concern. We will study the effects of regulatory deficits and sleep disturbance on the dynamic course of PTSD and AUD. The study will investigate whether a short, computerized training in the laboratory will alter maladaptive response biases and reduce associations between sleep disturbance, affect and behavioral dysregulation, AUD symptoms, and PTSD symptoms in the real world. The objective of this application is to develop and evaluate Spanish-language hearing education materials for adults. Our hypothesis is that participants will demonstrate better understanding of their hearing loss and associated difficulties, and will be better able to identify options for self-management following delivery of culturally and linguistically appropriate patient education materials. Hypertension (HTN) is the single most prevalent risk factor for cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome. Recent American Heart Association (AHA) statistics indicate that one-third of all adults in the United States of America suffer from HTN. Despite advances in life style modification and multi-drug therapies, 20-30% of all hypertensive patients remain resistant. These individuals exhibit autonomic dysregulation due to elevated sympathetic activity and norepinephrine spillover, and low parasympathetic activity. It is generally accepted that this uncontrolled, resistant HTN is primarily "neurogenic" in origin, involving over activity of the sympathetic nervous system that initiates and sustains HTN. A surgical approach such as the recently developed "Simplicity Catheter" assisted renal denervation remains one of the few options available to these patients. Thus, a mechanism-based breakthrough is imperative to develop novel strategies to prevent and perhaps eventually cure neurogenic hypertension (NH). This study is designed to evaluate a low and high dose of minocycline to test the hypothesis that minocycline treatment would produce antihypertensive effects in drug-resistant neurogenic hypertensive individuals. Minocycline has been selected because of its demonstrated effects on inhibiting microglial activation and its ability to penetrate the blood brain barrier. There is no other compound available that is safer and displays specificity better than Minocycline in inhibiting microglial activation. Thus, the potential therapeutic benefits of this inexpensive, well tolerated, already FDA-approved drug that has minimal side effects would be enormous. Read Less

This is a multi-center, non-randomized, open label study. Subjects will be enrolled if they are deemed eligible given the inclusion criteria. Subjects who meet all inclusion criteria and none of the exclusion criteria will be entered into the study. Subjects will be exposed to non-radioactive 13C-Urea with citric acid, and may submit a stool sample or undergo endoscopy for Rapid Urease Test and Histology samples. Center(s) will house a PyloPlus UBT Analyzer to document results. PyloPlus Analyzer results shall remain blinded to the investigator and treating physician. No patient management decisions should be made based on the investigational PyloPlus UBT System. Treating physician will either prescribe a H. pylori Stool Antigen Test through P4 Diagnostics, along with another Urea Breath Test using Breath ID, or patient will undergo Endoscopy to provide a composite reference method consisting of Rapid Urease Test and Histology. These will act as the comparators to the PyloPlus Urea Breath Test System. Read Less

Pylori Stool Antigen Test to Stool test at either LabCorp or Quest Diagnostic, for the patient, which will be used for diagnostic purposes by the ordering physician. This study evaluates KRT-232, a novel oral small molecule inhibitor of MDM2, for the treatment of patients with myelofibrosis (MF) who no longer benefit from treatment with a JAK inhibitor. Inhibition of MDM2 is a novel mechanism of action in MF. This study will be conducted in 2 phases. Phase 2 will determine the KRT-232 recommended dose and dosing schedule; Phase 3 will test KRT-232 vs Best Available Therapy (BAT). Patients in the Phase 3 part of the study will be randomized 2:1 to receive either KRT-232 (Arm 1) or BAT (Arm 2). The BAT administered will be determined by the treating physician, with the option to "cross-over" to KRT-232 treatment after 6 months of BAT or if the disease worsens at any time. Read Less

Older adults may feel at risk for falling, but do not have a physical risk of falling. On the other hand, some older adults may not feel at risk for falling, but do have a physical risk of falling. This study is being done to test a preventative, in-home exercise program (called PEER) which may allow older adults to improve balance, align the perceived risk for falling with the physical risk for falling, and prevent falls. Participants will be asked to participate in this study for approximately 9 months. This study has three specific aims: 1. Examine differences in balance, fall risk, and physical activity after program completion, follow-up 3 months and 6 months between older adults (OAs) in the Physio-fEedback Exercise pRogram (PEER) intervention and OAs in attention control (AC) condition. 2. Explore differences in exercise adherence and the proportion of shifting in fall risk appraisal and negative self-perception on aging after program completion, follow-up 3 months and 6 months between OAs in the PEER intervention and OAs in AC condition. 3. Explore participants' experiences with the PEER intervention and potential barriers to access and adoption of the technology-based PEER intervention to inform future research. Participants will be asked to participate in this study for approximately 9 months. This includes the baseline assessment, 8 weeks of PEER activities or attention control activities, and follow-up assessments at 3 months and 6 months. After the informed consent and completion of the baseline assessments, participants will be randomized to either the PEER intervention or the attention control (AC) group. Participants in the PEER intervention group will be asked to participate in group exercises (60 minutes per week for 8 weeks) and home-based exercises (twice a week for 8 weeks) that focus on balance, strength training with a peer coach. Participants in the AC group will receive an information pamphlet developed by the CDC about falls called Simple Exercises for Improving Balance and Preventing Falls in Older Adults. Topics include information on fall risks, how to prevent falls, how to check for safety, postural hypotension, and chair rise exercises. The goal of this clinical trial is to follow the progress of wounds in those with venous leg ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers while using an absorbent dressing called Mepilex Up. The main objective is to follow the progress of these wounds over time from initial visit to each follow-up visit.
