The investigators wish to better understand the role of the choriocapillaris (CC) in the formation and progression of non-exudative in age related macular degeneration (armd) by imaging the retinal pigment epithelium (rpe) and the choroidal microvasculature and by studying their inter-dependence to determine if the loss of the CC could prove useful as an anatomic clinical trial endpoint in future drug trials. Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of chronic total occlusions (CTOs) is increasingly being performed in patients with advanced coronary artery disease, but there is limited information on the techniques utilized and the procedural outcomes. The goal of this multicenter, investigator initiated registry is to collect information on treatment strategies and outcomes of consecutive patients undergoing CTO PCI among various participating centers. The information collected will be used to determine the frequency of CTO PCI performed at the participating sites and examine the procedural strategies utilized, and the procedural (both immediate and during follow-up) outcomes. The primary objective of the Phase 1 part of the study is to determine the recommended dose of APVO436 administered intravenously to patients with AML or MDS. The primary objective of the Phase 1b part of the study is to evaluate the clinical activity of APVO436 in patients with AML or MDS. APVO436 is being studied in this Phase 1b, open-label, multi-center, two-part dose-escalation/dose expansion study to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD), and clinical activity of APVO436 in patients with AML and MDS. The study will be conducted in 2 parts. The first part of this Phase 1B study is an open-label, multiple dose ascending dose escalation phase to determine the recommended dose (RP2D) level of APVO436 for future Phase 2 studies. The goal of the dose expansion phase of the study (Part 2) is to (i) evaluate the safety and tolerability of APVO436 at the RP2D level when it is used as an adjunct to the standard of care and (ii) obtain a preliminary assessment of the anti-leukemia activity of APVO436-containing experimental monotherapy and combination therapy modalities. Study Objectives for Dose Escalation Phase Primary Objectives are to: Determine the RP2D level of APVO436 administered intravenously (IV) in patients with AML or MDS, and Evaluate the safety and tolerability of APVO436 at the RP2D level when it is used as an adjunct to the standard of care and obtain a preliminary assessment of the anti-leukemia activity of APVO436-containing experimental monotherapy and combination therapy modalities. Secondary Objectives are to: Define the safety profile and immunogenicity of APVO436; to determine the PK/PD of APVO436; to evaluate the clinical activity of APVO436 in AML and MDS patients. Further evaluate the safety profile and immunogenicity of APVO436 and the PK/PD of APVO436 and the relationship between PK/PD and clinical response. Swallowing difficulty (dysphagia) is a common postoperative complication in patients who undergo cardiac surgical procedures. Postoperative dysphagia in cardiac surgical patients is associated with negative health-related outcomes including increased rates of pneumonia, reintubation, and death as well as increased length of hospital stay and costs of care. This study will examine the safety, feasibility, and impact of preoperative respiratory strength training (RST) on swallowing and associated health-related outcomes in cardiac surgical patients. We hypothesize that preoperative RST will be safe, well-tolerated, and lead to improved swallowing and health-related outcomes in cardiac surgical patients. Read Less
