A Prospective Database of Infants With Cholestasis
Recruiting
Biliary atresia, idiopathic neonatal hepatitis, and specific genetic cholestatic conditions are the most common causes of jaundice and hyperbilirubinemia that continue beyond the newborn period. The long term goal of the Childhood Liver Disease Research Network (ChiLDReN) is to establish a database of clinical information and plasma, serum, and tissue samples from cholestatic children to facilitate research and to perform clinical, epidemiological and therapeutic trials in these important pediat... Combination Radiotherapy and Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Treatment Planning for Thyroid Cancer
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to evaluate combined radioactive iodine (RAI, 131-I) and external beam radiotherapy (XRT) to optimize the radiation dose delivered to treat well differentiated thyroid cancers (DTC) with iodine-avid metastases. The investigators hypothesize that precise dosimetric planning will permit this combined RAI-XRT radiotherapeutic approach to be safe and permit higher tumor radiation doses than could otherwise be delivered. Patients with metastatic well-differentiated DTC) that... Read More

Tendon Transfer Rotator Cuff Tear
Recruiting
This is a prospective randomized study on using muscle tendons to repair tears of the muscles on the shoulder. There are 3 muscles covering the shoulder joint- supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis. Large tears involving these muscles can be treated by using some muscle from another location of the body known as Tendon transfer techniques. These muscle tendons may be from the lower back (Latissimus Dorsi), upper pack (lower trapezius) or chest (pectoralis). There are currently no studie... Read More

The Natural History of TRPV4 Neuropathy
Recruiting
The goal of this research is to document the natural history of neuropathy in patients with a confirmed genetic mutation in the TRPV4 gene. The investigators are searching for patients willing to participate in a 6-year long study to document the symptoms of TRPV4-associated disease and their progression over time. Participation requires annual study visits at Johns Hopkins for adult and juvenile participants.
