Study to Investigate the Safety of the Transplantation of Human Glial Restricted Progenitor Cells Into Subjects With Transverse Myelitis
Recruiting
This study is a non-randomized, open-label, partially blinded, sequential cohort, dose-escalation study designed to obtain preliminary data on the safety, tolerability, and early activity of Q-Cells® transplantation in subjects with Transverse Myelitis. For each of the dose levels, transplantation of Q-Cells® unilaterally into spinal cord demyelinated lesions will be evaluated. Subjects will be blinded to side of treatment. Idiopathic Transverse Myelitis is a monophasic disorder characterized p... Read More

Symphony IL-6 Reference Range Study
Recruiting
Symphony IL-6 is a device that quantitates human IL-6 by fluorescence enzyme immunoassay (FEIA) from whole-blood specimens. Use of Symphony IL- 6 removes the need for plasma separation before testing. Symphony IL-6 comprises two components, the Symphony Fluorescence Immunoanalyzer and the Symphony IL-6 Cartridge. Whole blood is added to the cartridge and then up to six cartridges can be inserted into the immunoanalyzer. After 20 minutes a readout and printout are given with a quantitative IL-6 c... Read More

Hemodialysis in the Elderly (70yrs & Older)
Recruiting
This will be a prospective, single institution, parallel-group, single-blinded, randomized-controlled, two-arm, effectiveness study comparing autologous arteriovenous fistula versus hemodialysis access grafts in the elderly. The target sample size will include enrollment of 270 patients over a period of 5 years. The creation of an autologous arteriovenous fistula or placement of a hemodialysis access graft constitutes the two arms of the study.

The Effect of Guided Care With Vectra Compared to Treatment as Usual in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis
Recruiting
The goal of treating patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is to achieve remission or low disease activity and thereby prevent joint damage, loss of physical function, and disability. Optimal management requires regular assessment of disease activity, with treatment changes made as needed for optimal efficacy. Vectra is a blood serum test that looks at 12 biomarkers and produces a score on a scale of 1 to 100. The Vectra score has been shown to be the strongest predictor of risk for... Read More

Delayed Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy in Ductal Cancer in Situ
Recruiting
The trial aims to investigate the use of superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanoparticles as a tracer for delayed sentinel lymph node dissection (d-SLND) in patients where upfront axillary surgery (SLND) is oncologically deemed unnecessary and should be avoided. This includes but is not limited to patients with a preoperative diagnosis of ductal cancer in situ of the breast (DCIS), an unclear BIRADS 4-5 planned for diagnostic excision or women planned for risk reducing mastectomy. SPIO is injec... Read More

The Role of Social Determinants in Cardiovascular Health and Vascular Function
Recruiting
This study aims to identify the influence of social determinants of health domains on vascular function in a low income, racial, and ethnic minority population at risk for disparities. We hypothesize that individuals of a lower social economic position and those struggling with depression are at greater risk of cardiovascular disease.
