Gut Microbiome Dysfunction in Sepsis and Trauma Survivors
Recruiting
Gastrointestinal microbiome dysfunction has been demonstrated to be a culprit of various systemic dysfunctions in peripheries such as cardiovascular, nervous, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems. The topic of microbiome dysfunction after sepsis and trauma injury is understudied but may be responsible for persistent systemic inflammation clinically observed in sepsis and trauma survivors. Therefore, the objective of this project is to investigate the gut microbiome after acute phase of sepsis o... Read More

Prospective Multicenter Evaluation of a New Predictive Model for the Progression of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis
Recruiting
Scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity affecting the orientation and position of the spine. Locally, the shape of the vertebra is also affected. The most common form is adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) with a prevalence of 1-3% affecting primarily young adolescent females. AIS can either be treated using a brace and in some cases necessitate surgical correction to prevent progressive deformity. Risk factors for progression include female gender, curve magnitude and location, skeletal ma... Read More

Effects of Dexrazoxane Hydrochloride on Biomarkers Associated With Cardiomyopathy and Heart Failure After Cancer Treatment
Recruiting
This clinical trial studies the effects of dexrazoxane hydrochloride on biomarkers associated with cardiomyopathy and heart failure after cancer treatment. Studying samples of blood in the laboratory from patients receiving dexrazoxane hydrochloride may help doctors learn more about the effects of dexrazoxane hydrochloride on cells. It may also help doctors understand how well patients respond to treatment.

Recruiting
This is a double-blind, saline-controlled, and randomized study with blinded assessments using a single dose. Subjects that have a current diagnosis of chronic lumbar disc disease and meet eligibility criteria will be enrolled. Chronic lumbar disc disease is defined as back and/or radicular pain with degeneration of the disc confirmed by patient history, physical examination, and radiographic measures such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), plain film, myelography, di...
