Colorado is currently home to 1805 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs and Englewood. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
Skeletal Response to Simulated Night Shift
Recruiting
This small intervention study will determine if simulated short-term night shift work (NSW) negatively alters bone metabolism. The specific aim of the study is to determine if NSW acutely uncouples bone turnover markers (BTMs), if sympathetic tone is a mechanism for this disruption and if a resumption of a normal sleep/wake pattern reverses BTM uncoupling. Our hypothesis is that NSW will reversibly uncouple BTMs via increased sympathetic nervous system (SNS) tone.

Bright Light Exposure in Surgical Patients
Recruiting
1. Elucidate the influence of intense light therapy pretreatment in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. We hypothesize that intense light exposure is associated with the peripheral stabilization of Per2 in human buccal swabs and plasma samples before surgery and with a decrease of Troponin I levels after surgery. In addition, we hypothesize that light therapy leads to Per2 dependent metabolic optimization in the human cardiac tissue. Therefore, a small piece of human heart tissue from the right... Read More

Pentoxifylline in Diabetic Kidney Disease
Recruiting
Pentoxifylline (PTX) is a medication that has been on the market since 1984 for use in disease in the blood vessels of the legs. There is some preliminary information that it may protect the kidneys from damage due to diabetes and other diseases. "Pentoxifylline in Diabetic Kidney Disease" is a study to bee conducted in 40 VA hospitals across the nation to determine definitively whether or not PTX can prevent worsening of kidney disease and delay death in patients with diabetic kidney disease.

A Dose Finding Study With an Anti-TSLP Antibody (GSK5784283) in Adults Aged 18 to 75 Years of Age With Uncontrolled Asthma
Recruiting
This study is trying to find the right dose of a long-lasting medicine called GSK5784283 for people with asthma that remains uncontrolled even though they are using regular asthma treatments. GSK5784283 blocks the action of an inflammatory protein called TSLP that may be contributing to your asthma. The study will be conducted in two parts - Part A (dose finding phase) and Part B (extended dosing phase). Part A will assess the lung function, asthma control, participant safety and certain markers... Read More
