Colorado is currently home to 1810 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs and Englewood. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
Alveolar Macrophage Programming Following Endotoxin Exposure
Recruiting
The histologic hallmarks of lung inflammation include accumulation of inflammatory cells in the airspaces and interstitium, injury to alveolar epithelial and endothelial cells, loss of epithelial-capillary integrity and accumulation of edema fluid in the interstitium and airspaces. Accordingly, for alveolar repair to occur inflammation must be halted, debris and inflammatory cells removed, injured tissue cells replaced, and capillary barrier function re-established. Macrophages are key players i... Read More

Implementation of a ColoRectal Cancer Screening Tool in US Primary Care Practices - Usual Quality Improvement (10 Clinics) vs Normalization Process Theory-Participatory Learning in Action (10 Clinics)
Recruiting
Although implementation intentions (I2)-based tools enhance colorectal cancer (CRC) screening uptake, prior studies have not tested their implementation into routine primary care delivery. In this study, investigators will conduct a cluster-randomized trial in 20 US primary care clinics. Specific aims for the project will be: 1) to test whether a Normalization Process Theory-informed Participatory Learning in Action (NPT-PLA intervention) implementation of a proven implementation Intentions-base... The EndRAD Trial: Eliminating Total Body Irradiation (TBI) for NGS-MRD Negative Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With B-ALL
Recruiting
This study will evaluate the use of non- TBI (total body irradiation) conditioning for B-ALL patients with low risk of relapse as defined by absence of NGS-MRD (next generation sequencing minimal residual disease) before receiving a hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT). Patients diagnosed with B-ALL who are candidates for HCT will be screened by NGS-MRD on a test of bone marrow done before the HCT. Subjects who are pre-HCT NGS-MRD negative will be eligible to receive a non-TBI conditioning regime... Read More

A Clinical Study to Evaluate the Safety, Tolerability, and Immunogenicity of VAX-31 in Healthy Infants
Recruiting
The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of 4 injections of VAX-31 (at 3 dose levels) compared to PCV20 in infants at 2, 4, 6, and 12-15 months of age, in addition to receiving routine US concomitant vaccines. Stage 1 of the study will comprise 3 dose ascending cohorts. Stage 2 of the study will enroll the remainder of the sample size.

Convergent Mechanisms Underlying Reprometabolic Syndrome in Women
Recruiting
Dr. Nanette Santoro proposes to test the specific question that obesity results in abnormal estradiol response at the level of the pituitary and hypothalamus. This will be shown in diminished pituitary sensitivity to gonadorelin releasing hormone with a reduced estradiol induced luteinizing hormone surge in obese women.

The Pediatric Lupus Nephritis Mycophenolate Mofetil (PLUMM) Study
Recruiting
The study is a 1-year 2-part double-blinded placebo controlled 2-arm clinical trial. Treatment arms are (1) MMF dosed as per body-surface area (MMFBSA; 600mg/m2 body surface area per dose about every 12 hours) and (2) pharmacokinetically-guided precision-dosing of MMF (MMFPK; MMF dosed twice daily to achieve an area under the concentration-time curve (AUC0-12h) of MPA \>60-70 mg\*h/L. The study goal is to determine the safety and efficacy of MMFPK compared to MMFBSA for the treatment of prolifer... Read More

An Observational Research Study for Cancer Patients on Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors, DiRECT Study
Recruiting
This study compares treatment outcomes between patients of African American/Black (AA) ancestry and European American/White (EA) ancestry currently receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment. Collecting samples of blood and saliva and health and treatment information from racially diverse patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor treatment over time may help doctors better understand health care disparities among all cancer patients.

Bupropion to Reduce Cancer Related Fatigue in Cancer Survivors
Recruiting
This phase III trial studies how well bupropion works in reducing cancer related fatigue in cancer survivors. Cancer and its treatment can cause fatigue. Bupropion is a drug that is used to treat depression, as well as to help people quit smoking. It belongs to the family of drugs called antidepressants and works by increasing certain types of activity in the brain. Bupropion may reduce cancer-related fatigue by causing changes in inflammation and stress hormones.

Health Without Barriers/Salud Sin Barreras- Northern Colorado
Recruiting
The overarching goal of this work is to address the limited access to evidence-based health behavior and lifestyle interventions for youth and families most impacted by preventable chronic diseases, including obesity and type 2 diabetes. In the current project, we implement a small single-arm pilot and feasibility trial of Health Without Barriers/Salud Sin Barreras (HWB/SSB), a culturally-adapted, whole-family intensive health behavior and lifestyle intervention to 11-19-year-old adolescents and... Effect of Omalizumab in the Skin of Food Allergy Patients
Recruiting
The goal of this interventional study is to evaluate whether skin barrier abnormalities occur in subjects with a food allergy, as determined by positive oral food challenge (OFC). The main question it aims to answer is whether these skin barrier abnormalities can be reversed by omalizumab. If there is a comparison group: Researchers will compare non-food allergic participants (who do not receive omalizumab) to see if they experience skin barrier abnormalities. All food allergic participants wi... Read More
