Comparative Effectiveness of Palliative Surgery Versus Additional Anti-Seizure Medications for Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
Recruiting
Lennox-Gastaut syndrome is a serious and rare form of epilepsy that begins in infancy and early childhood. Seizures and their consequences need medical attention, emergency encounters, and hospitalizations. Seizures disrupt home life for the patient and for family. Lennox-Gastaut syndrome is typically accompanied by disabilities in motor, communication, eating, and other skills needed for daily function. Lennox-Gastaut syndrome (LGS) has no cure. Although current treatments may help reduce the... Read More

Pimavanserin vs. Quetiapine for Treatment of Parkinson's Psychosis
Recruiting
Patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) sometimes experience symptoms affecting their movement, such as slowness, tremor, stiffness, and balance or walking problems. Many patients also have other symptoms not related to movement, called non-motor symptoms, which may affect one's mood or emotions, memory or thinking, or cause one to see or hear things that aren't real (hallucinations) or believe things that aren't true (delusions). Hallucinations or delusions, together called psychosis, occur in u... Read More

Impact of Sentinel Lymph Node Mapping on Patient Reported Lower Extremity Limb Dysfunction in Stage I Endometrial Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III trial compares the effect of sentinel lymph node mapping to standard lymph node dissection in reducing the risk of swelling in the legs (lymphedema) in patients undergoing a hysterectomy for stage I endometrial cancer. Standard lymph node dissection removes lymph nodes around the uterus during a hysterectomy to look for spread of cancer from the uterus to nearby lymph nodes. Sentinel lymph node mapping uses a special dye and camera to look for cancer that may have spread to nearby... Read More

External Sensing and Neuromodulation to Assess Diabetic Pain Outcomes (XANADO)
Recruiting
This is a prospective, longitudinal, single-center, non-randomized, open-label, post-market clinical feasibility study to assess the efficacy of neuromodulation therapies (SCS and DRG) for chronic pain patients with diabetes and investigate whether physical and physiological data collected from diabetic and pre-diabetic chronic pain patients is predictive of subjective patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and of adjustments in patient care. These assessments will be made prior to, during, and after... Read More

Evaluation of Dosing Procedures of Chemotherapy Treatment (Carboplatin) With the Contrast Agent Iohexol
Recruiting
This trial studies how well iohexol works in helping doctors calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Understanding how to best calculate the dose of carboplatin given to patients with cancer may help doctors learn how to improve the use of carboplatin in the future.

The Intra-arterial Vasospasm Trial
Recruiting
The primary objective of the study is to determine the optimal intra-arterial drug treatment regimen for arterial lumen restoration post cerebral vasospasm following aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. The secondary objective is to evaluate clinical outcome at 90 days post discharge following optimal intra-arterial drug treatment for cerebral vasospasm. We hypothesize that Intra-arterial (IA) infusion of a combination of multiple vasodilators is more efficacious than single agent treatment cere... Read More

Preparing FIM-BCS - A Lifestyle Modification for African-American Breast Cancer Survivors
Recruiting
Hypertension and obesity are both major risk factors for cardiovascular disease (CVD), a leading cause of death for Black women in the United States. The investigators propose examining the feasibility and acceptability of the 12-week RN-CHeFRx (Real Nourishment and Cooking Healthy Food is Rx) intervention - grocery delivery, cooking classes, and nutrition education - for Black women with hypertension and obesity to improve nutritious eating habits and blood pressure control.
