Shared Decision Aid for Post-Total Knee Arthroplasty Opioid Prescribing
Recruiting
This will be a randomized controlled clinical trial in patients who have undergone primary unilateral total knee arthroplasty at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital and University of Chicago Medical Center. Study subjects will receive either a shared decision aid (SDA) about pain management or standard of care at the time of discharge. The impact of the SDA on the number of leftover opioid pills on postoperative day 30 and average NRS pain score on postoperative d... Read More

Dipraglurant (ADX48621) for the Treatment of Patients With Parkinson's Disease Receiving Levodopa-based Therapy
Recruiting
This study is designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of dipraglurant in PD patients with dyskinesia (randomized 1:1 to receive active or placebo) for 12 weeks (1 week at 150 mg per day and 11 weeks at 300 mg per day). The primary efficacy assessment will be based on the Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale (UDysRS). Patients who complete the 12-week blinded treatment period may have the option to roll into an open-label safety extension study for an additional 12-month treatment period.

Patient Navigators for Children's Community Mental Health Services in High Poverty Urban Communities
Recruiting
The purpose is to study a model of mental health navigation for African American and Latinx children (5-12 years) in high poverty urban communities focused on reducing key parental attitudinal barriers to care. Reducing persistent racial and ethnic disparities in children's mental health is a national priority and patient navigation is a highly promising approach that is rarely used in children's mental health services. The study will examine the effectiveness of paraprofessional (PP) navigators... Read More

Development of a Clinically-relevant Test for Assessment of Cerebral Vascular Function
Recruiting
The goal of this study is to develop a test of cerebral vessel function by inducing a reactive hyperemia that will elicit a rapid and profound increase in cerebral vessel shear stress. The results of this project may lead to development of a test with prognostic/predictive utility for individual risk assessment of a future cerebrovascular event/disease. This information will be of vital importance to the medical community in regards to cerebrovascular health in aging individuals, and testing of... Read More

Diabetic Fibular Nail Study
Recruiting
Our null hypothesis is that fibular intramedullary fixation (IMFN) does not impact complication rates when compared to standard of care treatment with open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF). There are no current or past RCTs comparing these fixation techniques to one another in diabetic patients. There is good data supporting both the use of intramedullary fixation for fibular fractures alone, and in high-risk patient populations (elderly, and diabetics). However, the effectiveness of these... Read More

International REgistry of COnservative or Radical Treatment of Localized Kidney Tumors
Recruiting
Partial nephrectomy (PN) is the standard treatment for localized renal masses and should be preferred in clinical T1 (<7 cm tumor diameter) renal tumors over radical nephrectomy (RN) whenever technically feasible. Nonetheless, indications, approaches, techniques for PN, and correct reporting of outcomes, are still a matter of great debate within the urology community. Concurrently, case-report series suggested that alternative strategies for the treatment of localized renal tumors (ablation tech... Read More
