Massachusetts is currently home to 3204 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Boston, Worcester, Springfield and Burlington. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
Ruxolitinib for the Treatment of T-Cell Large Granular Lymphocytic Leukemia
Recruiting
This phase II trial tests whether ruxolitinib works to shrink tumors in patients with T-cell large granular lymphocyte leukemia. Ruxolitinib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Inter-lobar Fissure Completion in Patients With Failed Bronchoscopic Lung Volume Reduction
Recruiting
The purpose of this protocol is to perform a pilot prospective controlled clinical trial to evaluate the potential role of lung fissure completion with pleural adhesiolysis strategy (experimental intervention) in severe emphysema/COPD patients with failed bronchoscopic lung volume reduction (BLVR) via the use of endobronchial valves (EBVs) therapy. In select patients, the lung fissure completion with adhesiolysis strategy will be performed by video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) guided st... Read More

FIH Study of NRTX-1001 Neural Cell Therapy in Drug-Resistant Unilateral Mesial Temporal Lobe Epilepsy
Recruiting
This clinical trial is designed to test whether a single image-guided intracerebral administration of inhibitory nerve cells, called interneurons (NRTX-1001), into subjects with drug-resistant unilateral mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE), with or without mesial temporal sclerosis (MTS), is safe (frequency of adverse events) and effective (seizure frequency). NRTX-1001 comprises human interneurons that secrete a neurotransmitter, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).

Combined Zephyr Valve System With Inter-lobar Fissure Completion for Lung Volume Reduction in Emphysema
Recruiting
The purpose of this protocol is to perform a pilot prospective randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate the potential role of lung fissure completion strategy (experimental intervention) in addition to endobronchial valve (EBV) placement (representing "standard-of-care") in select patients with severe COPD/emphysema and with evidence for \<95% fissure completion between adjacent lung lobes. In select patients, lung fissure completion strategy will be performed by either video-assisted th... Read More

Feasibility Tests for Various Prism Configurations for Visual Field Loss
Recruiting
The investigators will develop and test different configurations of high-power prisms to expand the field of vision of patients with visual field loss to assist them with obstacle detection when walking. The study will involve multiple visits (typically four) to Schepens Eye Research Institute for fitting and testing with the prism glasses. The overall objective is to determine best designs and fitting parameters for implementation in prism devices for future clinical trials.

S1703 Serum Tumor Marker Directed Disease Monitoring in Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive Her2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer
Recruiting
This randomized research trial studies how well serum tumor marker directed disease monitoring works in monitoring patients with hormone receptor positive Her2 negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Using markers to prompt when scans should be ordered may be as good as the usual approach to monitoring disease.

Use of a Colorectal Cancer Screening Decision Support Tool in Primary Care
Recruiting
The research question we pose is, Does a colorectal cancer (CRC) screening decision support tool offered in advance of primary care visits increase CRC screening completion rates? Our work aims to answer this question by evaluating the effectiveness of an MGB decision support tool to 1) promote informed decisions about CRC screening for average risk patients ages 45-75, 2) deploy a decision support tool as part of a primary care bundle questionnaire, and 3) support patients in completing their p... mTBI Identification and Monitoring Through Retinal Scanning
Recruiting
Rebion has developed a device, the Rebion trauma tool (referred to as the head and intraocular trauma tool, or "HITT"), that detects ocular fixation and alignment using a binocular retinal scan. Preliminary data obtained from hospitalized patients with a clinically-confirmed traumatic brain injury (TBI) and uninjured controls indicates that the device can detect changes in ocular fixation, alignment, and saccades that are related to brain injury. This study seeks to evaluate the ability of the R... Read More
