Milk-Tot Study: Impact of Whole Versus Low-fat Milk on Child Health

In the U.S. it is recommended that children consume whole cow's milk (3.5% fat) from ages 1 to 2 years to support rapid early growth and brain development, and then at age 2 years transition to low-fat (1%) or non-fat milk to reduce saturated fat and calorie intake. To date, few studies have examined the optimal milk type for children to prevent obesity. This randomized controlled trial will evaluate the effect of consumption of whole versus 1% milk on child adiposity.

This is a prospective, multicenter, open-label, randomized trial comparing mitral valve (MV) transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) to surgical repair (1:1 ratio) in patients with primary, degenerative mitral regurgitation (MR). The trial will be conducted in the U.S., Canada, Germany and the United Kingdom, and is designed as a strategy trial. Thus, all devices legally marketed for TEER of primary degenerative MR in a particular country are eligible to be used in this trial.

Bevacizumab Treatment For Type 1 ROP

Type 1 retinopathy of prematurity in zone I represents the most severe type of ROP and has the worst prognosis. It is unknown whether low-dose bevacizumab will be successful in these severe cases. Also unknown is the timing and extent of peripheral retinal vascularization after low-dose bevacizumab compared with the standard dose. The current study will evaluate whether doses of 0.063 mg and 0.25mg are effective as treatment for type 1 ROP, with ROP and retinal vessels all in zone I.
