California is currently home to 5595 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
Individualized Neuroimaging Biomarkers for Predicting RTMS Response in OCD
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to discover brain-based subtypes of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and examine treatment response to two different repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) targets in the brain: the medial prefrontal cortex (MPFC) and the right prefrontal cortex (rPFC).

HIIT Vs. MICT Training Study
Recruiting
The purpose of this study is to compare the impact of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) versus moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) on human health outcomes in healthy sedentary subjects, over 12 weeks of exercise training. The investigators will compare several health parameters, such as changes in multiomics profile, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscle strength, and body composition, before and after 12-week interventions of either HIIT or MICT.

Machine Learning in Atrial Fibrillation
Recruiting
Atrial fibrillation is a serious public health issue that affects over 5 million Americans (Miyazaka, Circulation 2006) in whom it may cause skipped beats, dizziness, stroke and even death. Therapy for AF is currently suboptimal, in part because AF represents several disease states of which few have been delineated or used to successfully guide management. This study seeks to clarify this delineation of AF types using machine learning (ML).

The Dynamics of Human Atrial Fibrillation
Recruiting
Atrial fibrillation (AF) is an enormous public health problem in the United States, affecting 2-5 million Americans and causing rapid heart beats, stroke, heart failure or death. In this project, the applicant will develop a novel framework to better understand human AF that builds on agreement between several concepts for the disease. The applicant will develop strategies to identify AF patients who will best respond to each of several therapies, to guide personalized therapy.

Evaluation of RBS2418 in Subjects With Advanced, Metastatic Solid Tumors
Recruiting
RBS2418 (investigational product) is a specific immune modulator, working through ectonucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase I (ENPP1), designed to lead to anti-tumor immunity by increasing endogenous 2'-3'-cyclic guanosine monophosphate-adenosine monophosphate (cGAMP) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP levels) and reducing adenosine production in the tumors. RBS2418 has the potential to be an important therapeutic option for subjects both as monotherapy and in combination with checkpoint blo... Read More

AN/BN Risk Factors Study
Recruiting
Across the United States, thousands of children and adolescents suffer from eating disorders. Among young women alone, an estimated 2 to 4 percent are dealing with anorexia nervosa. Anorexia nervosa also has the highest mortality rate of any psychiatric disorder and produces a six-fold increased risk for death. Unfortunately, study shows that current treatments are only successful with 25 percent of patients and no eating disorder prevention program has been found to reduce future onset of anore... Evaluating Genetic Modifiers of Cutaneous Neurofibromas in Adults with Neurofibromatosis Type 1
Recruiting
The main goal of this protocol is to develop a well-phenotyped genetic biobank to identify genetic variants associated with the heterogeneous clinical presentations of Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1). This will allow for improve understanding of NF1 pathogenesis and more personalized disease management. The investigators will conduct a GWAS analysis to identify common genetic risk variants associated with the development of cutaneous neurofibromas.
