California is currently home to 5602 active clinical trials, seeking participants for engagement in research studies. These trials take place at a variety of cities in the state, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Sacramento. Whether you're a healthy volunteer interested in paid medical research or someone seeking trials related to a specific condition, the state offers a diverse array of opportunities in your vicinity.
REBYOTA™ Prospective Registry
Recruiting
This is a prospective observational cohort study designed to collect data on patients who received REBYOTA™ for the prevention of rCDI in the routine care setting. As all data collected for this study are observational, the decision to prescribe REBYOTA™ is at the treating physician's discretion and independent from the decision to enroll the patient in the study. Data will be collected from patients' medical records after obtaining informed consent. Data about clinical history, CDI events (prim... Read More

Nicotinamide and Pyruvate for Open Angle Glaucoma: A Randomized Clinical Study
Recruiting
The objective of this study is to determine if a combination of oral nicotinamide and pyruvate (N\&P) can maintain eye health as compared to placebo while standard-of-care intraocular pressure-lowering glaucoma medications are used to treat glaucoma. A total of up to 188 participants will be enrolled and randomized 1:1 to receive N\&P or placebo for 87 weeks (20 months). Participants will be followed for a total of 91 weeks (21 months).

Geriatric Evaluation and Management with Survivorship Health Education (GEMS) for Older Survivors of Cancer
Recruiting
This phase III cluster randomized trial compares the effect of geriatric evaluation and management with survivorship health education (GEMS) to usual care on patient-reported physical function in older survivors of cancer. Survivorship care for older adults of cancer usually consists of getting advice from their doctor. This advice may include how to do their daily activities, so they are less tired or how to manage multiple diseases, or long-term side effects from treatment. GEMS may help impro... Read More

DBT Skills Groups for Veterans at High Risk for Suicide Attempt
Recruiting
Veteran suicide death is a national crisis. Risk factors include emotion dysregulation, which occurs across mental health disorders. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based suicide intervention that targets emotion dysregulation but is resource-intensive and not widely available at VHA. A more efficient evidence-based DBT Skills Group (DBT-SG) is associated with reduced suicidal ideation and emotion dysregulation and likely more feasible to implement at VHA. This is a randomized... At-Home Cardiac Rehabilitation for Adolescents At Risk for Heart Failure
Recruiting
The goal of this clinical trial is to explore the impact that an at-home cardio-oncology rehabilitation (CORE) may have on short-term cardiovascular fitness and psychosocial wellness in pediatric cancer survivors. The main question it aims to answer are * To evaluate the efficacy of an at-home CORE model on short-term cardiovascular fitness and psychosocial wellbeing in adolescent cancer survivors. * To evaluate the exercise adherence rate among adolescents at risk for heart failure and assess... Bone Mineral Density Agreement Study Between EOSedge™ Versus Traditional DXA
Recruiting
The purpose of this research is to collect medical imaging data to allow for the comparison of bone mineral density measurements from two different types of low-dose x-ray exams, EOSedge and conventional DXA. The main question it aims to answer is: Is there agreement between the calculated T-scores between the 2 different types of x-ray exams?

Endotype-Targeted Therapy to Rescue OSA Patients Struggling with CPAP Adherence (TOP-CPAP)
Recruiting
More than 10% of the US population have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Standard of care is therapy with CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) which virtually eliminates OSA. However, most patients use CPAP only for part of the night (4-5hours) and about 50% patients discontinue CPAP long-term. Alternative therapies are limited, thus many OSA patients remain at risk of OSA sequelae (e.g. sleepiness, memory issues, high blood pressure, etc.). Importantly, different patients get OSA for differ... Read More
