A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of the mRNA COVID-19 Vaccines in Healthy Children Between 6 Months to Less Than 6 Years of Age
Recruiting
This study will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of the mRNA-1273.214 vaccine for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variant of concerns (VOCs) in participants aged 6 months to \<6 years, when administered as a primary series in SARS-CoV-2 vaccine-naïve participants (Part 1) and a single booster dose (BD) given to participants who previously received 2 doses of the mRNA-1273 vaccine as a primary series (Part 2); and will evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of t... Recording of Intraoperative Spinal Cord Stimulation and Monitoring
Recruiting
Opioid overdose suppresses brainstem respiratory circuits, causes apnea, and may result in death. Epidural electrical stimulation (EES) at the cervical spinal cord facilitated motor activity in rodents and humans, and we hypothesized that EES of the cervical spinal cord could antagonize opioid-induced respiratory depression in humans. In this study, we will stimulate the spinal cord during surgery and assess its effects on respiratory function in human patients.

Neuromodulation to Improve Respiratory Function in Cervical Spinal Cord Injury
Recruiting
This is a phase 1 study of safety and feasibility of cervical spinal cord stimulator implantation in cervical SCI subjects who are ventilator dependent. The Investigators will be focusing on the safety and feasibility of this approach. Participants may qualify for the study if they are male or female 18-75 years old, are at least 1 year after original injury, have injury at C2 to C7 level, and dependent on mechanical ventilation to help them breathe. Additionally, they need to be able to attend... Read More

The HPV 9-10 Trial: Early Initiation of HPV Vaccination
Recruiting
Every year, thousands of Americans die from cancers related to human papillomavirus (HPV). The vast majority of those deaths could be prevented with a safe and effective vaccine, yet many parents choose not have their children vaccinated when it is recommended at age 11 or 12. In this study, we will examine in a randomized trial whether earlier initiation of the vaccine at age 9-10 years will result in less parental refusal and higher rates of full vaccination at younger ages, before early sexua... Optimizing Nutrition and Milk (Opti-NuM) Project
Recruiting
Early nutrition critically influences growth, neurodevelopment and morbidity among infants born of very low birth weight (VLBW), but current one-size-fits-all feeding regimes do not optimally support these vulnerable infants. There is increasing interest in "precision nutrition" approaches, but it is unclear which Human Milk (HM) components require personalized adjustment of doses. Previous efforts have focused on macronutrients, but HM also contains essential micronutrients as well as non-nutri... Read More

Role of Transposable Elements in Septic Immune Aging
Recruiting
The goal of this observational study is to learn about how transposable element levels affect the patient outcomes in sepsis. The main questions it aims to answer is: 1. Do transposable elements prematurely age the immune systems of patients with sepsis? 2. Do transposable elements correlate with increased mortality in patients with sepsis in the ICU? 3. Do transposable elements correlate with increased amount of secondary infections in patients with sepsis in the ICU? Participants will have b... Read More
