Exparel vs. ACB With Bupivacaine for ACL Reconstruction
Recruiting
Opioid misuse and addiction among children and adolescents is an increasingly concerning problem. Post-surgical opioid prescriptions for commonly performed surgeries such as anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) increase opioid exposure in young athletes. The purpose of the current study is to determine if extended-release Bupivacaine Liposome Injectable Suspension (Exparel) is effective in decreasing at home narcotic consumption compared to standard Bupivacaine Adductor Canal Block f... Mindful Waiting Room
Recruiting
This will be a single-site, five-arm, parallel group randomized control trial involving patients seeking integrative healthcare. Four different styles of 5-minute, audio-recoded mindfulness practices delivered in the clinic waiting room will be compared with a 5-minute audio-recording about integrative healthcare. A secondary sub-analysis will investigate the most effective mindfulness practice style for patients presenting at the clinic with elevated anxiety, depression, or pain.

Discovery and Analytical Validation of Inflammatory Bio-signatures of the Human Pain Experience
Recruiting
The first objective of the study is to evaluate whether a novel bio-signature (derived from a wide range of pro- and anti-nociceptive IL-1 family cytokine activity) will predict pain experienced and also release of underlying endogenous opioid neurotransmitters during an experimental nociceptive pain challenge, which will be performed while simultaneously quantifying mu-opioid receptor activity in the brain via \[11C\]-carfentanil PET neuroimaging in healthy subjects. Another objective is to eva... Read More

Vibratory Anesthesia in Trigger Finger Injections
Recruiting
This study aims to compare the effectiveness of the use of no topical anesthesia, topical coolant, and the use of vibration in the reduction of pain during trigger finger injections. This will be done by randomizing patients who are diagnosed with trigger finger, warrant and choose to continue with a steroid injection into each of the respective anesthetic (or lack thereof) methods described. After conducting this and gathering data on the subjects pain felt, we will compare the analgesia from e... Read More
